Our Founder
Michael B. Cavish, Jr.
(September 22,1942-December 2,1998)
Michael Cavish was outrageous, interesting, friendly, energetic, exceedingly popular, and, in Norfolk, well known. He was also a restaurateur with a talent for cooking and a flair for interior design. Tragically, he was murdered on December 2, 1998.
Fellini's was Michael's baby. He wanted Fellini's to be "a place you can come when you don't want to go out to eat". In 1991, he told reporter Sam Martinette, "We're in the food business, and a lot of the establishments that have come and gone had a tendency to emphasize alcohol, whereas we emphasize fresh food and lots of flavor. We're not frightened to use garlic or spices that people will remember".
